Hello! The projects on this particular post are two box cards for my colleagues whose birthdays are in April. Here they are.

CARD# HPJ-2017-21: Bird

This card is for Acel. Her favorite color is orange so I made a vibrant orange card for her.

CARD# HPJ-2017-22: Monster

This one is for A (Adrian). The card that I made for him last year was also black and white, but this time I added blue and green elements to it for variety.

CARD#s HPJ-2017-07 to 20

Hi again! This time, I am going to show you the cards I made for our colleagues in the US.

I so love how they turned out. I'll definitely make some more similar cards in the future. They look awesome!

Each card measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".

So, how did I make them? The same way as my canvases and art journal spreads. Heh. I coated the cards (slightly smaller than the front of the base) with gesso then stenciled with light molding paste. After drying, I stamped the images and texts. I then splattered inks onto each one.

For the sentiment, I inked the clear stamps using my white pigment ink pen and stamped on pieces of black board paper. I adhered them onto the front of the cards.

So, what do you think? Aren't they gorgeous? I'm sure I will be making more of the same type in the future. They're fun and easy to make, but of course it takes more time to finish them because of all the needed drying. That was that. Thanks for stopping by. I hope you check out my other projects. Happy Thursday!

CANVAS # HPJ-2017-03: Life Is Good

Hi again! What I am going to share next is a triptych. It's a work of art that is divided into three sections (in this case, three canvases). I have been hooked with the techniques I am using with my art journal spreads that I have employed them on canvas as well. I still haven't gotten over the splatter technique yet and I don't think I will ever be. You will see for yourself when you check my next posts. Hehe.

For this triptych, I used pink and blue as the main colors. My new distress stains (in shades of blue) have arrived during this time so I made use of them for the project.

First, I coated the canvases with gesso. Afterwards, I stenciled on the surface with light molding paste (I ran out of molding paste. TT.TT) I then proceeded with the stamping. I stamped like mad! Hah. Then I added the first two colors (light cream and light pink) using watered down liquid pearls. I found that they are permanent when dry and whatever liquid material you put on top of it would not smudge the original layer. Great! Lastly, I added the blue elements using distress stains.

I adhered a journaling card on the first canvas, a postcard on the second one and another journaling card and a diecut with a pin button on the third one for the focal points. I forgot about the stains being water reactive so they smudged a bit when I brushed some micro pearls. Gad. I never learned because the same thing happened on my second triptych and on the fifth canvas. Hmph.

I love the subtle shades of pink and blue on this project. I thought of putting some other embellishments, but decided against it in the end. It is simple yet beautiful. I hope you find it as such yourself. Thanks for stopping by today!

CARD#s HPJ-2017-03 to 06

Hello! Here is a set of cards I made for Raine, a colleague's daughter. She had her birthday last March and she especially requested that I make her a card when we went to their farm last February. She didn't need to ask. I would really make her not just one, but four. She can use the other three for her friends' birthdays.

Let's start with her birthday card. I made a trishutter card for it since she had mentioned before that she loved the one I made a couple of months ago. I actually made it somewhat similar to that card. I used the pretty papers from the Documentary paper pad. I did not embellish heavily since the papers are already very pretty what with all the patterns and colors. I only added some texture using light molding paste and stamped texts.

CARD# HPJ-2017-03: Happy

I have committed a little mistake on this card. You see I did not originally think of dripping some ink on the front of the card for the background. If I had decided to do that beforehand, I would not have adhered the patterned paper to the base yet. Ugh. It was a mess. The ink of course soaked through the patterned paper and through the base. Tsk tsk tsk. My bad. Anyway, it looked great after everything dried. I'm still happy with it after all the mess. And I heard Raine loved it so I shouldn't feel bad about it.

For the other three cards, I used the same techniques as the trishutter card only that they were just two-fold cards.

CARD# HPJ-2017-04: Celebrate

CARD# HPJ-2017-05: Shine

CARD# HPJ-2017-06: Hello

That was that. Thanks for looking today! I hope you check my other projects. Have a wonderful week!
